Here at Libertyville Chevrolet, we can't wait for the 2013 Chevy Volt to hit our showroom floors, and we know drivers in the Lake Bluff and Waukegan areas can't wait either. Currently, not much is known about Chevy's next incarnation of the popular Volt line, but we expect to see the same great hybrid technology found in the current model, plus a few new features and options to keep drivers on their toes. What to Expect From the Next Chevy Volt
The current Chevy Volt is an electric plug-in hybrid that makes the most of its energy sources to give Waukegan drivers more fuel economy and power for their money. While very few details have been released, we expect Chevy to carry over much of the same hybrid technology featured in the current version to the 2013 model. This includes a battery paired with a gasoline engine that allows you to drive about 35 miles without having to gas up and reach speeds as high as 100 mph on an impressive 149 hp. You can't get power like that from traditional hybrids or pure electric vehicles! There's also an onboard generator that produces electricity to give you an additional 375 miles on a full tank of gas, and we may even see minor improvements in this technology when the 2013 Volt is released sometime next year.Another great feature of the Chevy Volt that will surely remain available in the 2013 model is the ability for drivers to be in control of their fuel economy with an at-home fueling station. Buyers can currently choose between a 120V or 240V charging station that allows you to plug into a conventional electrical outlet and fully charge the battery in about 10 hours.
