Libertyville Chevrolet Near Chicago Welcomes the Green New 2013 Malibu Eco
Without a doubt, hybrids create savings for commuters, and the 2013 Mailibu Eco at Libertyville Chevrolet near Chicago
is poised to sell fast when it hits our lots this spring. First seen as
an available trim level on the Chevy Cruze, the Eco trim on the 2013
Malibu has the same design mission as its predecessor: to add a more
fuel-efficient mode to an already well-performing model. The Eco version
is not a true hybrid per se, but its EPA-rated fuel economy closely
matches smaller vehicles in the hybrid class - about 25 mpg city and 35
mpg highway. A battery pack stores energy that originates from
combustion, such as hydraulic energy expelled during breaking, and
re-channels it into a four-cylinder engine to get the absolute most out
of each drop of fossil fuel. The result is an impressive amount of power
- 184 hp to 190 hp - for a vehicle that finds itself at the fuel pump
less often than most gasoline powered cars in its class.
