The Chevy Avalanche is a full-sized pickup truck with a four-door crew cab. It contains a removable rear window and a fold-down mid-gate that allows it to be easily converted for more space in the truck bed. The Avalanche is available in three trim levels: LS, LT, and LTZ. It also come standard with cruise control, power front seats, Onstar, and Bluetooth. Buyers can opt to add a 40/20/40 front bench seat to increase passenger capacity to six. Also optional is a convenience package with a rearview camera and rear parking sensors. In the mid-level LT, parking sensors come standard as well as a Bose sound system, heated seats, and remote ignition. At the top of the Avalanche line is the LTZ trim, which includes an adaptive suspension, leather upholstery, and a navigation system.
The Avalanche is currently available in both two- and four-wheel drive. All trim levels come equipped with a 5.3L V8 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. The Avalanche can tow up to 8,100 pounds when properly equipped. Safety features for the 2013 model will include anti-lock brakes, depowered front airbags, and side drape airbags. The 2012 Avalanche received a five-star crash test rating in government crash tests.
