Air conditioning is a fun product of chemistry and physics. It starts with a gaseous refrigerant, which is compressed into a liquid. This naturally raises the temperature of the liquid, but the liquid (or refrigerant) is then cooled by your radiator and the passing air of driving. The cool liquid is then blasted into a non-compressed chamber, where it quickly becomes a gas again, and it cools down further due to the phase change. This takes energy in the form of heat from the surrounding air, which your A/C then blows right at you, giving you that cool blast of air you love, and the gaseous refrigerant goes back to the compressor.
Your A/C is a closed system, which means the refrigerant shouldn’t leak out. That means when your air conditioner isn’t blowing cool air, it could be a leak, a failure of the compressor, or other parts in the system. Our certified technicians will check the whole system and test it using a fluorescent gas to detect any leaks.
